Originality, in essence, is what drives our music label.
Be it in terms of songwriting, composition, arrangement, sound or style – originality is of paramount importance. We are also firm believers in emphasizing the need to nurture the talents of the artists we believe in so as to help unlock their full potential.
Besides creating and recording original music, we also aim to bring our music from the artist straight to the listener in the purest form possible. The way the artist intended it to be.
The company is headed by, KJ Singh AKA ‘The Big Chief’, while Punam Sawhney is in charge of the Business and Legal department and Hartej Sawhney helps provide a young persons perspective to the equation.

About KJ Singh
KJ Singh, has been a part of the Indian music industry since the 1980’s.
He began as a musician and soon added being a composer and music producer to his repertoire. Eventually he found his calling as a sound engineer/music producer for music (Bollywood and Independent), film scores, television and live sound.
Having worked with prolific names in music direction such as AR Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Vishal Bharadwaj, Anu Malik, Amit Trivedi, Harris Jayaraj, Ismail Darbar, Nadeem-Shravan and Vidyasagar to name a few, he is well versed with the film industry and has had a hand working on some of it’s most loved as well as critically acclaimed film albums.
In the independent sphere he has played an integral part in producing, recording and mixing Rabbi Shergill’s debut album ‘Rabbi’ (which contains the hit song ‘Bulla Ki Jaana’) as well as ‘Kandisa’, ‘Black Friday’ and mixing Tandanu, the critically acclaimed albums by Indian Ocean.
He has also worked on ‘Kaash’, ‘Jab Kabhi Bolna’ and ‘Halka Nasha’ by acclaimed ghazal and playback singer Harhihan as well as ‘Ishqa Ishqa’ by Sufi singer Rekha Bharadwaj, as a sound engineer.
From mixing albums he then moved on to mixing for films such as ‘Makdee’, ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Omkara’, the latter garnering him a National Award as well as the coveted Filmare award for Best Sound.
KJ is now the head of his dream project – his very own music label, ASLI MUSIC. He wishes to utilize this position to at some point use his company to provide a 360-degree solution to his artists.
